Personal Statement
In the past year I have learned a lot about the game and my role as a setter. I study film and watch college matches like the Pac 12 and Big 10 so I can see how to be a decisive setter and create good swing opportunities for my hitters. You can find film on my youtube page.

I work hard in the weight room and in training to increase my speed. In the past year I have increased my vertical jump 5 inches. I see the value of being strong. It gives me an edge and brings confidence to my game.
I am also a multi-sport athlete. I compete in track, I feel this helps me be a better volleyball player. It reminds me to be in the moment. There is a lot of technique to throwing so I have to be mindful at the same time being athletic. I only get three chances in competition to get my best throw in, so I need to make it count, and when it all comes together and my Javelin flies it's awesome.
When not playing I really like to draw. I am taking my 2nd art class and my drawings are really starting to look like what I am trying to draw. I find that doing art gives me some calming down time and relaxes me.
Our high school team took state my freshman year for the first time ever in any sport ( Skyridge is a new high school 3 years) I got to be on the bench as a freshman and it was awesome. That made made me realize that I want to be out there, on the court playing for a state championship myself! I am doing everything I can to help my team get back to that championship match. We moved into a bigger classification so its' not going to be easy. But I think we are up for the challenge.
