Personal Statement
I started volleyball in 7th grade and fell in love with the sport immediately. I transferred my hand-eye coordination skills from my life-long sport of basketball to my new and exciting sport of volleyball. I realized soon after that my love for the sport of volleyball and the strong comradery created a strong desire for me to play at a collegiate level. I have always known that sports would be a part of my life and I love the idea of representing my college through volleyball.
I think the quality of mine that most stands out, is how fast I can pick up corrections and new skills. I went from a beginner’s underhand serve to a jump serve in less than 3 months, also adding new abilities to my setting and hitting. I am always looking to improve my skills and take in every single thing that a coach tells me and try to become the best player that I can be for my teammates.
While volleyball is really important to me, my education is equally as important. I don’t just strive to be the best I can on the court, I also strive to be the best that I can be in the classroom. I work extremely hard to keep my GPA at the point that it is, and I know that academics are going to be what gets me into a strong academic school. I’m also Vice President for my community service club and I am a member of Refugee Outreach Committee.
I strive to find a very strong academic school that also includes a strong volleyball program. I strive to be the best version of myself, on and off the court, that I can be while also helping the peers around me.
