Personal Statement
My name is Kaitlyn Chan. I am in my 6th year playing volleyball and have been a starting Libero for my club teams since 8th grade. As a Freshman in high school I made the varsity volleyball team as a starter, and have been the starting Libero since. My sophomore season we had a great group of core players that earned the 2016 Virginia Regional 5A Championship and made it to the state playoffs coming in #2 in Virginia in our conference. For my club season that year, I decided to play up into the 17-1 division earning a bid to the 2017 USAV Nationals in Minneapolis. I love being a positive and strong presence on the court, motivating my teammates, pushing them to be their best, and picking them up when the team is down. I am focused and committed to be the best I can be at all times on the volleyball court and in the classroom.
I am determined to find the school that best fits me athletically and academically. In school I hold high standards for myself, maintaining an A-average as I wish to pursue an undergraduate degree in athletic training and then a doctorate in physical therapy. I am passionate about learning about the human body and helping people to the best of my abilities. I am open to finding the school with the best fit and am willing to explore any option geographically that has my desired majors.
Thank you,
Kaitlyn Chan
