Hello,
My name is Laila Melendez, I enjoy learning and experiencing different cultures and activities through travel and education. In elementary school we tried volleyball in gym class and I found my interest growing the more we learned in class about the sport so my family and I found a team for me to join to improve my skills. Playing volleyball has taught me that I learn quickly under pressure and enjoy being part of a team. I have learned that I enjoy working with my teammates combining our skills to complete the goal of winning the game. My academic goals for high school include continuing my education in engineering from my acceptance in the Stafford Academy for Technology (STAT) the governor’s school for engineering and maintaining a high GPA. I would like to attend a college that includes information technology, engineering and design (incorporating art) as part of their academics program. I enjoy trying different activities and possess a calm, friendly demeanor that helps me build strong relationships with my teammates and coaches.
