Volleyball has always been my haven from the world outside. No matter the emotions or issues I experience during the day, when I step onto a volleyball court the only thoughts running through my head are play hard and have fun. I look forward to these little moments of freedom and strive to make them as long as possible.
Ever since I picked up a volleyball, I have been working to become better and to compete with the players around me. I was lucky to have a great coach during my first year of volleyball who pushed me to play up to my potential. The next year, the attitude and strength he taught me guided me into playing club volleyball. Through club I advanced my skills and knowledge of volleyball, training me for three years to excel in High School.
Over these past four years, volleyball has become a great number of pieces in my life puzzle and learning that I could continue to experience the joy and relief from playing throughout college has expanded my thoughts on playing beyond High School. With the help of volleyball, I have learned to become strong and push through events that may hold me back, and I plan to use these traits to increase my play and exceed in life and school.
