Personal Statement
My name is Zoe Thomas, and I am a Middle Blocker/Outside-Opposite hitter for the class of 2022. I have played volleyball for six years, and I love it! It has become one of the biggest joys of my life! I dream of playing volleyball at the collegiate level, and I have been diligent in putting in the work to make my dream become realized. The energy and intensity volleyball provides has been so fulfilling and I’ve learned so much about myself as a person and as a teammate.
I’ve been told that I am a coachable athlete and I’m always looking for ways to develop myself technically, personally, and be a valued contributor on my team.
I am a leader amongst my teammates and peers, and strive to lead by example with belief, optimism, and a “can-do” attitude. Off the court, I take a rigorous academic course load (honors and AP courses) and maintain a 4.0 GPA at Riverside HS. I’m in several clubs to include: The Varsity Club, Rising Rams, & DECA. In my spare time, I’m involved in the youth ministry at my church and am a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., where I currently hold the office of President.
In college, I aspire to study Sports Marketing, engineering, or medicine. I’d love to attend a university that will allow the balance of obtaining an excellent education while competing at a high level. As I approach graduation, I’m committed to working hard, becoming a better athlete, and a better person overall.
