Cana Lankford '16 Recruiting Profile

I have a long list of goals I plan to achieve in college and it seems the list gets longer everyday. But the main goal I have for college is to grow as a person. I plan to excel in everything I do when I get there. I want to learn as many lessons I can, not just in the classroom but also in my day to day activities. I want to really push and challenge myself in more ways then I could think possible. All in all, I want to be a better and more bold person then I was when I first came.
Even though I didn't start playing volleyball till my sophomore year, it quickly became my passion. I've always given more dedication and time to volleyball above all the other sports I play. I push myself harder then I normally would when I'm practicing volleyball. But unlike when I'm playing other sports, I don't mind. I want to run extra laps and I want to lift more weights. I want to drill over and over till it's perfected. And I always try to inspire my team to do the same. Everyday I have a volleyball in my hand and everyday I have a new goal set for myself. I try to build more goals once another goal has been met. And everyday I strive to become a better player than I was the day before. Not just skill wise but also as a teammate. I put my team before myself when I step on the court and that's how it is till I go home. I've had experience with selfish teammates and quickly learned it gets the team nowhere. So being there for my team means just as much as the sport itself to me.   So I hope this gives you a little insight on who I am and I'm excited to hear from you! Thank you :)
