Personal Statement
I was honored my junior high school season to receive a spot on the 1st team all-district and 2nd team all-region. Playing for my high school for 3 years so far, I have continued my skills in 3 different positions: Setter Freshman team, Libero JV, and DS Varsity. For my final year at Loudoun Valley, I am working towards my goal as the starting Libero, which I have also been working in that position throughout all my club seasons with Western Loudoun Volleyball Club. I believe a well-rounded player in multiple positions is not only more helpful to a team, but also helps me understand the game better. I love being Libero because in that position you are the primary communicator on the court. Talking during rallies is one of the most important aspects of volleyball, calling seams, watching the ball and running plays require you to communicate with your team during the entire game. In addition to athletics, I believe academics are also very important to being a well-rounded student-athlete, exercising time management and responsibility. I have a 4.08 GPA with an 1100 SAT score and I believe challenging myself with AP level classes is similar to the competition of playing time on the court and wanting to be the best you can be. I am a well-rounded, competitive student-athlete excited to study Sport Management and play Collegiate Volleyball.
