I am excited to play volleyball at the next level in college as I am a very competitive person and I want to challenge myself. I only started playing volleyball in 8th grade so a lot of people at the club level doubted my ability. I play with a chip on my shoulder and want to play well for my teammates and my coaches and to do whatever I can to help my team win. I enjoy competing and putting in the work it takes to be the best in volleyball, the classroom and in life. I am a long way from a finished product and I enjoy the journey I am on and all of the coaching I am getting.
My cousin, Macy Capen, played volleyball at TCU recently and I have talked to her a lot about what to expect and she has made me even more determined to play in college. My dad played soccer in college and 8 years as a professional and was an MLS All Star Goalkeeper. My brother Arie, plays soccer at Penn State and my other brother Nico, is being recruited to run track in college. My mom ran track when she was younger and this has made for a very competitive family atmosphere which I think has helped prepare me for the next level. I learn so much from each one of them and take something from our conversations on a daily basis.
