Personal Statement
I am driven to succeed and excel in everything I do whether it's on the court, or in my schooling. I think there is always room for improvement; however far you've gotten, you can always go a little farther. That's why, wherever I am, I seek to either set the bar for my teammates and classmates, or raise the bar that has been set for me. Ultimately, I believe that sports isn't always just about the win, but about doing the best you can, having fun, and sticking together. That's why I try to stay positive and keep things fun in every situation, which means I can get a bit goofy at times! I do my best to shake off my mistakes and encourage my fellow players after they mess up and to focus on the next point.
My experience in other extracurricular activities, such as theater, basketball, and soccer, have allowed me the ability to learn quickly, adapt to different situations, and improvise when necessary. Because of this, despite my height, I have also had my share of setting and playing back row. I have received several awards for volleyball, including two 'All-Conference Team' awards and three 'All-Tournament Team' awards.
I am excited at the prospect of playing volleyball at a collegiate level; I would also love to major in veterinary technology and possibly minor in French. I love the challenge of learning new things and pushing myself to be better than the best I can be and I think the opportunities college brings with it will test me to do just that!
