Personal Statement

Volleyball has always been more than a sport to me, it has been a way of life. Playing volleyball has not only made me a better athlete, it has also helped me become a better person. Participating in volleyball has improved my ability to communicate effectively with people and to have more confidence and dedication in what I want to accomplish.

Some great character traits of mine are:

  • Optimism: for example: when someone on the team is down I am usually the first to lift them up because I know that volleyball is a mental game and having positive energy can make all the difference.

  • Persistence: for example: when I make a mistake I have this powerful desire to overcome the failure by either making an ace, a kill, a block, or an incredible save.

Wherever I am either in practice or at a tournament I am always ready to give 100% and hope to inspire others around me to do the same.

One aspect I really like about volleyball or team sports in general is that you have all the players who individually have unique skills sets and talents but only when they are brought together and work with others can they really excel in what they can accomplish.

I believe my skill set I would be adequate for the outside hitter position because I always enjoy overcoming the obstacles that come with that position.

I would love to follow my dream of pursuing a higher level of volleyball after high school such as in college.  And in college I would want to major in either environmental science or veterinary science. I would like to attend a school where I can meet both my academic and athletic goals.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
