Personal Statement
I first started golfing in 5th grade as a part of the junior PGA program at our local golf course. I also played many other sports. In 7th grade, volleyball slowly became my first sport as my passion and love for the game grew. In September 2019, I suffered a traumatic knee injury ending my high school volleyball career. I played high school golf as a freshman, but took sophomore year off to focus on pursuing a college volleyball scholarship. Spring of my junior year, I decided to get back into the game of golf at the encouragement from my high school civics teacher. I made first team all league for 3A GSHL, as well as received the coaches award for my high school team. The summer of 2019, I started working with a golf pro to focus more on my swing and technique. Due to my injury, my current focus is rehabbing my knee. I am currently waiting to be cleared for golf by my Orthopedic surgeon. If all goes as planned, I am looking forward to having a great senior season. I am a good candidate for a team, because I am encouraging to others and supportive. I will always push teammates to be the best they can be and play to their best potential. As a player, I hope to continue to improve, surround myself with positive teammates, and continue to grow as a person. I am looking for a college that has a supportive community with a great college atmosphere, where I would enjoy spending my next 4 years. I am hoping to major in exercise science and athletic training.
