Personal Statement

Over the past 7 or so years, my participation in volleyball has not only made me a better all-around player, but a better all-around person. I've begun to realize how much that I've learned, and yet how much I still have to learn. Even so, because of my sport,  I have discovered the necessities of perseverance and working hard to achieve my goals. I have learned that having patience and being an amazing teammate are crucial to the success of an individual both on and off the court. I have known the struggles of playing under even the most arduous conditions and not always, in fact very rarely, seeing the fruits of my labor. I believe that knowing how to handle one's self in any situation is a skill that's groomed into athletes of all sports and does transfer on to the real world--the world outside of volleyball. I know I am the epitome of all of these attributes.
Furthermore, it is these realizations that have made me the viable individual that I am. Exceptional social skills, a strong-willed mentality, and my go-getter mindset are seen quite clearly both on the court and in the classroom, making me a strong, versitile candidate for any team atmosphere.
I am extremely interested in pursuing a degree in oceanography or marine biology, so I can both focus and be successful in my studies and be committed to the sport I love.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
