Personal Statement

All-Conference Team - Nov 2013

TriCities Athlete of the Week - TriCity Herald - Oct 20, 2013

Awarded MVP of University of Utah Elite camp - July 10, 2013

Emerald City Classic All Tournament Team Outside Hitter for 18 Club division - May 27, 2013

I've been playing sports since I was 5 years old. I'm very competitive and have been blessed to be a fast runner and big jumper. I have quick feet both on the court and on the track. I love volleyball and the challenges it brings. Working hard is not only physical, but also a mental workout that I look forward to that can get me to the next level. I'm a versatile player starting out as libero and DS when I was shorter, and as I increased in height and vertical jump I've played middle, right side and outside hitter. I like working on my vertical jump and I'm spending time in the weight room to get even higher. I want to block every hit and I like to take a big swing.  I enjoy the teamwork that's involved on the volleyball court. It takes more than one person to get a point - with 25 points on the line, that's a lot of teamwork to get there. Working as a team is important to me because great teams come from great teammates. We're all working toward the same goal and enjoying every minute of it!

    • Youth Volunteer Group and Community Service: I have many opportunities for community service within my church youth group. I've participated in several community service projects including landscaping local parks and prominent landmarks in our area. I voluntarily clean our church and help teach young children in our congregation. Sometimes my community service is as simple as delivering food or goodies to someone in need or someone who may be lonely. Service is an uplifting activity for me and I think it should be an important part of every one's life. I can make a difference in someone else's life and it always feels good to know I have that ability through serving others and serving in my community.
