Personal Statement
Detroit proved to be very successful and fun this year as we took 1st in the Silver Division at Nationals. Winning 3rd at Nationals in Indianapolis was my highlight of my volleyball career in 2016 so far. This past year we are having a lot of success which shows in our power rankings. We are ranked top 1/4 in the nation. I am spending some time on the beach this summer. This is to help me with my speed and jump height for indoor. We are hoping to do better then last year at seaside when we took 2nd in Silver bracket.
I love to play volleyball. I had a great start to the sport when I was 11 years old. I did not play on the best team but it taught me that you have to start from somewhere. Watching others better than me left me wanting to be better. So, that is what I strive for every time I step onto a volleyball court (in practice, in a game or on a long day/s of tournaments) to be better than I was the last time I was on the court, have a growth mindset and to have fun. These three things have set me up for success. I have had great coaches that have helped remind me to be better every time. I appreciate what they have done for me.
I am working towards trying to explore my options in the field of Sciences. I am enjoying all sciences, math and American Sign Language classes. I would love to find a major that helps me find my path for the future. I will continue to work hard when it comes to my education.
