Personal Statement
My name is Gabby Gunterman, I am 16 years old and love to play volleyball. I have a tremendous passion for this sport and love to learn new skills and compete. I have just finished my second year at Lake Stevens High School as a Varsity player. I was the only Freshmen to make the Varsity team 2013. I have been playing volleyball for eight years total with six years at club. I am a six-rotation outside hitter. I can also play right side and have good hands for setting. I'm a fierce competitor, enthusiastic and supportive team player. My goal is to play at the college level. I am working hard in school to maintain my GPA, play volleyball and still have fun. I am very fortunate to have made USAV HP camps the last five years including USAV A2 camps and an invitation to USAV Continental Team. In 2013 I was named team MVP for my club team and had 293 kills. In 2013 I was also nominated to attend the AVCA Phenom Program in Seattle and I finished 43 rd overall in the AVCA VPI and 24th in my graduation year and 3 rd of the outside hitters for my grad year. I have also made the AVCA Phenom list for 2014 and placed 53 rd overall and 17th for my graduation year. In 2013 I was awarded the Puget Sound Region Breakout Player of the year award for Puget Sound Region Volleyball, Seattle area. I am currently playing for Seattle Juniors u17. Starting as a Junior and third year as a Varsity player the team has voted me team captain and I was awarded team MVP. I am really proud of these few accomplishments and hope to continue more. I am still learning about all the potential opportunities available to me to further my education and play volleyball. Thank you for viewing my profile and getting to know a little bit about me.
