Personal Statement
I am Kiana and my goal is to play college volleyball. This goal is something that I have been working for since I was in the first grade and now that I am a senior in high school, I am more than ready to do whatever I can to achieve it.
I know what you're thinking, she is just an ordinary girl that started at a young age and now she plays club volleyball, the usual. But the thing that sets me apart from every other girl that is looking at your college is that I've never started off on a team as a "starter" or one of the best players. I have always had to scrape my way up from the bottom and this building of my skill and mental toughness has made me into the hard-working, gritty, and selfless teammate that I am today.
This struggle of not being the "best" is not something I use as an excuse because through all of the hard times, all of the bad plays, all of the nights that I felt like giving up and didn't, I got better. The game of volleyball has truly changed who I am.
I have been on Varsity for 3 years, I was a freshman when I made Varsity. I also have a 3.79 GPA, something that I also feel sets me apart from other people is that I can balance school, school volleyball, club volleyball, and family all at once.
I think that I will be an amazing addition to your team and I hope that you consider me to be a hardworking, go-getting, teammate that will always put the team first. Thank you for your time.
