Danica Pel '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Danica, I enjoy all sports, fun activities and I love to travel to new places. I have been playing volleyball since I was 8 years old.  I fell in love with volleyball instantly and have been playing club, select, middle school and high school volleyball as well as elite beach volleyball.  The teams I’ve been on have qualified and participated in Regional and National events.

Participating in three Girls’ Junior National Championships was a humbling experience.  My club team, Fusion was fortunate enough to qualify for Nationals, not just once but three times consecutively was extraordinary!   Each year we finished with a higher ranking than the previous year.  Although, we may not have won the title, the greatest learning experience for me was in the losses as I am able to reflect on those matches, sets and points and learn from those situations and improve my game so i can help my team even greater for the future.

Having the experience of not only watching but playing against some of best players and teams in the nation competing at the highest level is extremely motivating for me.  It encourages me to continue to train hard and work on improving my skills on and off the court in this game that I love to play!  My goal and desire is to play volleyball in college and become the very best player that I can be in my position as libero while earning a degree in my area of study in Psychology and/or Law.
