Determination: a tendency to move in a fixed direction. Hello, my name is Jade Larrabee and I am currently a Senior at Selah High School in Washington State. I am a Varsity player that qualified for our 2A State tournament and received the Sportsmanship Award. I have also been to Nationals in Texas in 2012 and then again in 2014 & 2016. If I could explain myself as a player in one word it would be determined. I have a mindset of always wanting to get better and grow myself as a player and person. My goal is to be so successful in life in all aspects. Being self less and helping others, being a team player and supportive in anyway I can and pushing my self to accomplish anything I put my mind too. To achieve this goal, I am looking forward to finding a college program that I can get a degree in business/finance and be able to play volleyball.
My passion for volleyball started at the age of 9 and have been playing competitive volleyball for 8 years on the top teams for my clubs and school ball every since. I fundraise every season to help pay for my club dues & travel costs which shows again my determination to not only want to play but I enjoy what I do. I have always played setter but once in awhile my coaches use me as a DS or a libero. I have the ability to be able to get the "impossible" balls up. I have good placement of the ball, seeing the blockers, knowing who my hitters are, moving the ball around, not always setting the easiest set but the smartest set instead. I love the adrenaline rush from tight games and the satisfaction of beating phenomenal teams knowing that all of the hard work that I've put in during practice has paid off. But, I also know the feeling of losing games and using that determination to dig deeper and work with my team to adjust our mindset to produce better results. I know that every point, ball, and play matters so I will never give up on any ball.
I realize my height isn't your ideal first choice but it has not stopped me from getting from assisting with some blocks. I have and will continue to put in the time to make my skills worth your time, my time, and my teams' time. I attend every summer work out & lift weights, go to the open gyms, attend camps & tournaments while also working part time and keeping my grades at 3.83 GPA. I look forward to getting to know you and to explore your campus and have a chance to watch me play. I hope to hear from you soon!
