I have wanted to study medicine since I can remember. Recently my dad was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease that has inspired me to want to study neuroscience and eventually become a neurosurgeon. As the eldest of 3 sisters, I have had to step up and be a key player in our family since my dad got sick. Being part of a team is something I like doing and I am good at. Learning to become a humble leader for my little sisters and my teammates in Volleyball is a skill I have picked up. I am a strong candidate and asset to any team because I have had to overcome many barriers that have helped me become very adaptable and resilient. Having a front row seat to what it means to have to work hard and persevere has helped me develop skills that will allow me to be successful in college and on any team.
