I am Kendall Saalfeld, I am in the graduating class of 2021 at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, WA. I was the starting setter for my high school and club teams my 9th and 10th grade years and I became a defensive specialist for my high school team my 11th grade year. My high school team went to the Washington State tournament my 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years, and finished in the top 10 each year, finishing 2nd place during my 10th grade year. I was a Captain my 11th grade year, and made 2nd team All-League two years. I have played club volleyball for Puget Sound Volleyball Academy the last two years.
The last two years I volunteered for the Mary Bridge Hospital's Festival of Trees Auction which raises money to help their Children's Hospital. I enjoy volunteering and helping my community. I am especially passionate about helping children through athletics. I worked at the YMCA in 2019 and taught their values through sports.
I am looking to major in neuroscience at a school that has a team with a strong family atmosphere. I also want a team which will support my academic pursuits and will allow me to play volleyball without having to sacrifice taking a difficult major.
