Focus, dedication and hard work define my work ethics in life. I always take much pride in my education studies and my athletic accomplishments. Managing a high GPA comes with the utmost importance regardless of it's level difficulty to me. My family comes first, than school and finally athletics lead my priorities in life. I do what ever is necessary to reach my full potential as a female athlete. Being an excellent student allows me to be eligible on the court, and thus setting a positive example as a team leader. allowing me to be there for my teammates through all circumstances.
Sports have played an integral role in my life since I can remember, I enjoyed playing many sports as young kid growing up in Hawaii for part of my life. Growing up I played, soccer, volleyball, tennis, swimming, surfing and others. Volleyball is my passion and love. It's a game I enjoy most, and it's a game I excel at playing, it make me happy.
I started playing volleyball at the age of 9 in park leagues, I played all positions and quickly found out how much I enjoyed the sport. I started playing club volleyball in 7th grade or 11 yrs old, I played several positions, backrow, hitter positions and setter. Once I reach 8th grade my coach on the school and club teams recognized I had a certain skill set that fit the setter position. I began setting and focused on developing my skills as a setter while continuing to play full rotations on the court.
My conditioning need to be more that others on my team, as I usually didn't get many breaks during the matches. I found my self doing more in the gym to prepare my body for the extra challenge on the court. I take great pride in being a team leader. I had to prepare myself for success; I expect to win, and I expect my teammates to work hard as well, winning is fun, winning is a privilege, winning takes the right attitude and mindset. Winning is part of whom I am, it's part of my life, and I expect a winning outcome on and off the court.
Given the opportunity to continue toward my goals and achieving excellence both on the volleyball court and in the classroom, doing what I love, would truly satisfy my dreams and goals in life. I am confident that you will find me as a kind, loving, caring, dedicated person committed to making our world a better place to live.
