Personal Statement
I have played volleyball all my life and love it. I grew up around volleyball, playing and learning from my older sister, who is now my coach. I have played travel volleyball since 3rd grade, attended 2 USAV High Performance opportunities at a national level, and have attended numerous showcases and elite camps to become a better player.
My teammates have always voted me captain, even as a Freshman on the Varsity team. I am a leader on the court and I always try to motivate my teammates. I love to hit and play outside hitter, but with my athleticism, our HS team has run a 6-2 offense so I could set other hitters. Last year, I was the sole setter in a 5-1 offense. I feel that even though I am a competitive person, I also play selflessly and I want my team and teammates to have a chance to be the best.
When I am not on a volleyball court, I am usually at church. I sing in our Youth Praise Band and I am active with our Youth Group. At school, I am involved in FCA and Bible Club and I was in the Eagle's Nest as a Sophomore last year. This is the top 20 students of the class.
Although my love is playing Outside Hitter, I enjoy being a Setter almost as much. I know my height is working against me playing OH. And even with my experience as a Setter, I am a versatile player and would love an opportunity to play on the back row.
