Personal Statement

Playing Volleyball in college has always been a goal of mine.  I first started playing and competing in volleyball in the eighth grade. The amount of time and dedication I put into practice on and off the court really helped me to improve my skills. This hard work ethic gained me a spot as a varsity starter for my high school volleyball team at Rock County Christian School.

To begin with, my determination is what sets me apart from other recruits. When I have a goal I go for it. Determination has also shown people the character I have. A character that represents me sacrificing anything at all costs to make sure my team succeeds.  For example, let a volleyball be close to hitting the ground in a game I am diving for it. Or let a volleyball be bumped out of bounds on our side I am going to save it to keep the ball in play. Overall, my ethic of determination is what sets me apart from other recruits.

Furthermore, athletic awards I have received consist of the 2019 Most Improved Varsity Volleyball Player Award, Indian Trails All-Conference Women’s Volleyball First Team-Gold Division Award, Rock County Christian School Volleyball Ms. Intensity Award, Miss Andrea's Dance Studio Rising Star Award, and the 2010 and 2012 Amateur Athletic Union Track & Field Junior Olympics Awards.  My athleticism can be described as dedicated, determined, and aggressive.  I bring positive aggression to the floor. What I mean by that is I get my team's spirits up, and energy pumping on and off the court.

Moreover, my academics in the classroom are great. I have a 3.59 GPA, with high honors. I am not so good of a test taker though, I received an ACT composite score of 18. I do not let this score define me because I have been accepted into eight colleges, which proves to show a standardized test does not define your future and/or aspirations.

In conclusion, I believe I will be a great fit for your team.  From my character to my athleticism,  and then lastly to my academics. With my hard work, determination, dedication, and loyalty I know I will bring an abundance to you and your program.
