Personal Statement
Ever since I started playing volleyball I knew I wanted to play in college. I am very passionate about the game of volleyball and know that I'm supposed to be on the volleyball court. It feels like home to me. I am very hardworking and am determined to play college volleyball. I have a lot of knowledge about the game. In fourth grade I started playing AAU volleyball and have played AAU every year since then. In sixth, seventh and eighth grade I played on my school's junior high team. In junior high school, my coach played me in all positions. As a freshman, I started on the high school varsity team as the libero. I was the only freshman to play varsity. As a sophomore in high school I was again starting high school varsity. For the beginning of the season I played outside hitter and played full rotations. After about two weeks of the season I got moved to starting libero so I could constantly be in the back row. I was selected to be in The Best Athletes in AAU book for volleyball in 2011 and The Best Volleyball Players of AAU book in 2014. As a freshman, I received All Conference Honorable Mention, The Good Sportsmanship Award which is decided by the Wyoming High School Activities Association, and lettered as a freshman. I also received All Conference Honorable Mention as a Sophomore and lettered again. I also got asked to go play on a team in Hawaii at the NoKaOi Showcase.
When I am not playing volleyball I participate in other sports and activities too. The other school sports I play are basketball and track. I have played basketball since 1st grade and track since 6th grade. As a freshman and sophomore , I played on the high school varsity teams and lettered in both of those sports. I was also a starter on the varsity basketball team. I have been part of our school's student council for six years, five of which I have been our class president, including this year. I am in choir and for the past two years I have been selected to sing The National Anthem at the Wyoming State Wrestling Tournament. I am also a part of the National Honor Society. On top of all my activities I maintain a 4.0 GPA.
During the past two summers I've worked for my dad's construction business during the day. We build and remodel houses, shingle roofs, and do residing jobs. I also co-own a very successful lawn mowing business with my siblings. We have at least 12 regular clients that we mow for on a weekly basis. We take care of those lawns in the evenings, after my construction job.
I live in Moorcroft, Wyoming. It is located in the Northeast corner of the state near the Devils Tower National Monument. I will be entering my junior year this fall at Moorcroft High School, which is a 2A school.
I am looking for a college where I can obtain a degree in the field of Health and Fitness. I am open to the opportunity
of traveling near or across the country and playing college volleyball at a school that is right for me.
Feel free to contact my parents, my coaches, or myself.
