Personal Statement
I love water polo and swimming. I've been playing sports and swimming since I was five and playing club polo since I was 13. I've played in numerous tournaments across the state including, 3 Junior Olympics and Club championships. I've played Polo all three seasons at Acalanes High School and currently playing my fourth year. As a junior I moved up to our top ranked varsity team, where our team had an outstanding season coming in Second in our section -North Coast Section (NCS), out of 50 + Northern California teams. I scored 6 goals at the NCS championships games. As a Freshman I scored 22 goals and our team was undefeated. As a sophomore i scored 40 goals and got the MVP award. I had the highest amount of goals scored on JV.
I love to swim and my swim times are: 50 Free - 28.93; 50 Back - 31 seconds and 500 Free - 5.52. I will have lettered 3 times for swimming when I graduate and 2 times for polo.
Some ways want to improve: last year I attended UCSD's water polo camp where I learned a ton of new skills and strategies. This summer along with Club Champs and JOs I've attended a WP camp at Monterey and I' attending the Nike 5-meter camp at US Bakersfield starting today. I want to keep improving my skills as I love this sport, and I can't imagine not being able to play. And I love being part of a team. Those skills have taught me a lot. Mo's inspired me and I'd love more than anything to play even beyond college on a national team.
I swim Varsity as well as train pre-season and swim on a competitive rec team during summer. I am also a 5 year junior swim coach, which I absolutely love as I get to teach the little kids how to swim and have fun being part of a team. That's one of my favorite things to do.
I cannot imagine a day not playing water polo and I really want to play at the next level and beyond.
