I'm interested in studying Marine Biology and playing water polo in college. Ever since I was 5 years old, I've been swimming competitively and because of this I grew to love water sports and marine life.
I consider myself as a team player, aggressive competitor, self motivated, goal oriented and extremely hardworking. Also, I consider myself a student of the game of water polo. In my spare time I watch videos of former USA women water polo players. My role model is Brenda Villa. Like her, my stature is smaller than most of my competitors. The water is an equalizer where I can use my speed, strength and knowledge to my advantage.
I also work with a personal trainer to improve my strength and flexibility in the water. In the last year that I have been training with her, I have improved in strength building and speed in the water. I have also noticed that due to me working with my trainer that my shot became stronger and quicker.
This past year, I received All Academic Team during swim season. As a senior I am taking AP Lit, Marine Biology and AP Stats. It is a rigorous course load but I am confident that it will further develop me as a student athlete. It is important for me to challenge myself both academically and athletically.
