I am seeking a high level academic school that challenges me both mentally and physically in the classroom and pool. I believe I have the skills to play at the collegiate level, I have the grades to help entrance to a competitive academic program, and I love the game.
I think I have a lot to offer to a good collegiate women’s water polo program. I have enjoyed playing water polo for several years and trained with great coaches. As I have moved a couple times, I have had the opportunity to play with new coaches and clubs to find pool time, this has benefited my game and relationships greatly. I have been a part of my regions ODP team since I qualified; invited to try out for Team USA twice, been recognized as a First Team All-CIF player for my freshman and sophomore years, I am a faster swimmer (56s 100 yd) and I am a coachable leader (please call my references). I think I can offer various roles to a program. In high school I serve as the primary center defender. For my club team Royal 559 out of Clovis, CA) I am a utility player, but always a strong defensive player.
I take my class work very seriously. At the time of this writing I have a 4.3 cumulative GPA and a 4.5 Grade 10 GPA. My classes are challenging and I am currently participating in the Engineering and Design track offered at my school. I choose to surround myself with peers who stay on the right track to push themselves in the classroom and in their athletics to stay motivated. I have been raised to know that academics always come before athletics, but I have learned that I get all of my work done for both sports and school when I am busy and disciplined.
Playing collegiate women’s water polo is one of my top goals that I believe will mold my future and help me be the best person I can. I also believe water polo is fun, I really don’t know where I would be without it. Water polo for me has been a great way to have fun while creating discipline and growth as a person. My favorite part of being an athlete is being a part of a wonderful community and making relationships that last. I have never felt better than being with my water polo family after a big win that we worked hard for.
I would like to play water polo for a great academic institution. I think I offer attributes to help many programs. These include the academic qualifications and water polo skills, but also the characteristics of a kind leader and coachable athlete.
