Personal Statement

For years I’ve dreamed about realizing my potential as a collegiate level women’s water polo athlete. I aspire to attend a school where I can earn a degree that is diverse, creative, and challenges my work ethic, dedication and passion for success. Chemistry with my team is important to me and I believe I will not only contribute athletically but personally with my coaches, classmates and peers.

What makes me different from other players is my calmness under pressure during intense situations that requires me to deliver exceptional results.  As a natural leader, my abilities as an all-round athlete in the pool makes me a good candidate for a college team. I play very controlled & strong defense, am a threat scoring anywhere in the pool, from any position, am fast with good arm reach, and am hard to guard. In the water, I am able to  "hear" and "see" plays evolve before other players. I have a keen sense of timing and judgement. I learn my opponents and "sense" where my own players are in the pool without looking.

Out of the pool, I work very hard towards achieving academically which does not come easy for me. I will become the first person in my family to achieve a college degree because I don't give up or believe in quitting. The fact that I am extremely organized, neat and detailed will help me overcome any academic challenges I may face.

Finally, I believe in giving back. It is important for me to build strong relationships in and out of the pool with athletes, students, faculty, friends and family.  Being kind and approachable allows me to share compassion for others which is a key component of who I am. I'm excited about what College has to offer, and look forward to an exciting journey in this next step of my life!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
