Personal Statement
At this point, I have played water polo for 4 years and have fallen in love with the sport. I was put on varsity my freshman year as a starter. I am on a club swim team and have 9+ years of experience. I then decided to join a club water polo team CHAWP, which I train with 2 to 3 times a week and participate in tournaments. I have been with CHAWP for a year now and participated in Junior Olympics enjoy the team aspect of water polo that swimming lacks. I really want to improve my skills and continue growing into the best player I can be for myself and my team. Even though I have a lot of experience in swimming, I still have a lot of room to grow in water polo! I have realized that there is a lot more to water polo than swim and would love to continue water polo throughout college. Goals I would like to reach are becoming a better Guard and being more aggressive during the game. One quality I have that is beneficial to the water polo team is that I am very spirited and caring. My teammates look to me to help cheer them up before a game and to pick them up throughout the game. I am a hard worker and a fast learner, always ready to tackle new obstacles and try new positions, these qualities will help me become a better player. I would also consider myself as a hard-working student. I am in honor and AP classes and maintain a weighted GPA of a 4.3. This helps me maintain my work ethic as well as responsibility.
