My name is Sierra Martin, I am 5'7" and 140 lbs. I have been playing after polo for 3 years, playing varsity since my sophomore year at Christian Brothers High School. I received most improved player my sophomore year. I am an attacker and driver as well as a utility player. This year our team won 3rd in league and advanced onto section playoffs. At Christian Brothers, I am a Junior and currently have a 4.43 GPA with 2 AP courses and 4 honors courses. I also play for American River Water Polo Club in Sacramento which is coached by ex-Olympian Heather Moody, and this will be my second year. At the end of the season I was awarded Most Improved Player for my team and also moved up an age group to travel to Junior Olympics with the U18s. I have also received the Academic All American award this past year. During the 2016 fall season I worked as a coach for the younger players at American River. I will continue coaching into the spring and summer seasons as well. Over the years, I have been playing, my love for the game as well as my skills have increased. I am dedicated and hard working in both the pool and the classroom. I value being a good teammate and work well with others. I would love to play water polo in college as well as major in environmental studies.
