Personal Statement
Starting on the Varsity team my freshman year was the highlight of my high school career, or so I thought. However, little did I know it was just the beginning to future, amazing opportunities to lead to my success. I keep growing as a student-athlete more and more each day, whether it being in the pool with teammates or the classroom with my peers. After losing most of our games my freshman year and Division 2 Valley Championship my sophomore year, I realized that there was more work to be done with myself in many aspects. It taught me to re-focus on my efforts and learn that there is someone working harder than you right now, therefore you should keep working harder and harder each day. I knew then that I wanted to have the goal being able to play at a college level, and I understand the hard work I must put into reaching that goal.
I have been fortunate enough to have the best opportunities I could have in the central valley of being able to play club, ODP, attend JO’s, and become MVP my sophomore year. I was taught the value of teamwork, leadership, sacrifice, and dedication throughout my years of playing for multiple coaches and teams. I not only want a program that is a good fit for me athletically, but also academically. I believe I have the talent to compete for college level, but also the character, leadership, and work-ethic to make a great impact for your program. With all of my experience throughout my years of playing, I know I have what it takes to become a great fit to your program!
