Personal Statement

My name is Schuyler Parker, and I am passionate about water polo, both as a sport and as a driving force in my life. I am eager to continue my athletic journey by playing Division 1 water polo, where I can challenge myself at the highest level of competition. My experience as an athlete has taught me invaluable lessons about discipline, time management, and the importance of a strong work ethic. I am fully committed to meeting the demands of a D1 program.

Water polo is more than just a game to me; it’s an integral part of who I am. The sport requires mental toughness, physical conditioning, and a dedication to constant improvement. I am no stranger to the grind. Whether it’s pushing myself through exhausting swim sets or perfecting my techniques in the pool, I approach each training session with a mindset of excellence. I understand the dedication required for a successful collegiate athlete: the long practices, the travel for games, and the rigorous schedules, all while maintaining the focus necessary to excel academically.

As much as I am committed to being an elite water polo player, I recognize the importance of balance. I take my academics just as seriously as my athletics, knowing that success in the classroom translates into success in the pool. I am neurodivergent and have consistently maintained a high GPA while managing a demanding sports schedule, and I am excited to continue this balance at the Division 1 level. I pride myself on being an excellent student and understand the level of academic rigor required to thrive at this level.

My work ethic, resilience, passion for the sport, and my education make me a strong candidate for your program. I am ready for the commitment, sacrifices, and rewards of being a D1 water polo athlete, and I look forward to the opportunity to prove myself in and out of the pool.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
