In 2016, I played in my first National tournament at the age of 10. My dad and I travelled from South Florida to USAWP's 12&Under Rock-Toberfest in Arizona. Since then, I have been submerged in the world of water polo, playing every opportunity I got, and I have loved every minute of it. No matter how hard it gets, I love the challenges that water polo offers. High level play drives me to become better. It challenges me to not only play better physically, but also mentally; it challenges me to play both harder and smarter. I love high level play and would love nothing more than to pursue water polo at the highest possible collegiate level.
As a student-athlete, I think tough is the best description of my character and one of the key features that will make me a valuable part of a collegiate team. I do not give up. I keep swimming. I keep studying. I don't quit, especially when the pressure of the game is on the line. In addition to tough, I would add grit. I know that becoming a high-level student-athlete takes consistent work, and this is what I do. I don't skip practices, and I work, day in and day out, to get better, both athletically and academically. I have grit and combined with a growth mindset, I eagerly look forward to college and the wonderful challenges it will offer.
