Personal Statement
In college, I am eager to explore my future and also develop myself. I want to challenge myself and learn under great professors that inspire me to follow my interests and develop it into something beneficial or applicable to the real world. It is a dream for me to also be able to play water polo at the college level. I love the sport, and I can't imagine not being able to have a chance to play it. Playing on a team inspires me to do better, and I love to help inspire and learn from others. I am always willing to admit fault and ask for help or try and communicate with my team, which contributes to a better sense of cooperation and connection. My 11 years of competitive swimming taught me perseverance and gave me the physical strength and endurance I needed, but water polo taught me that you should love what you do in sports and in life. I always ask questions and go to extra practices whenever I can, not because anyone is making me, but because there is truly no place I would rather be than in the water playing. I feel that my passion and my need for a challenge truly separates me from others both in the pool and in the classroom. I am currently taking all AP and college classes because I only enjoy learning when I feel challenged and pushed. The same applies to polo. I push myself to go to extra practices and do drills at home to get better and also because I truly love it. I love training and learning at an elevated level and I hope that I can continue this in college.
