Personal Statement
For most of my life I have been a swimmer. Recently I switched my profile to water-polo and am still in the works of fine-tuning my profile and adding video ASAP. I love playing water-polo because it gives me a few things swimming never did: the beautiful team aspect of the sport (as being a team-captain in both of my sports, my team is super important to me), and the application of athletic skills such as agility, intelligence, quick problem-solving, and confidence that I am only beginning to learn I naturally possess. In my free time I also love art and music, and I take my academic life seriously.
In swimming, my favorite achievements have been swimming a 23.95 50 free and 52.35 100 free, earning me 10 year old varsity records, pool records across the state, several SEC first place finishes, 4 year All-State and All-American awards, and swim team MVP all 4 years. Being said I have been the sprinter my since my freshman year, and have been notoriously known for my speed as well as my strength. I am 5’10” 150lbs and can back squat 265lbs and bench 165lbs.
In water-polo I am a 3-time MVP, have won Michigans "player of the week" twice and have been nominated 3 times just this year. I am known as the team sprinter almost every period of every game and have won all but 4 sprints this year. Teams across the state refer to me as my name and not my number. I am an excellent and fast attacker and counter-attacking has been a huge strength of mine.
