Personal Statement
I’ve been playing the sport of water polo for as long as I can remember. My mom played at the University of Michigan, so she introduced it to me at a very young age. I attended summer camp at the University of Michigan when I was ten years old, and it was there that I learned team fundamentals of the sport. I played for Rockford Middle School in grades 6-8 and have competed for the Spartan Water Polo Club each summer since 7th grade. I’ve also played in the Junior Olympics tournament in the summers of 2016 and 2017. I have done ODP training camps for the past 3 years, and competed with the Great Lakes Zone team in March of 2017. As a freshman on the Rockford Varsity polo team, I helped lead our team to a district and regional championship, and state runner-up finish. I also received a 1st team all-regional tournament and 2nd team all-state tournament honors.
I am a 5’10” utility player from Rockford, Michigan and am passionate about the sport of water polo. I pride myself on hard work and being a great teammate, and my coaches can always be confident that I will do anything to help our team be successful. I am currently undecided on a college major, and am willing to explore opportunities in all geographical regions.
