I am in my senior year of high school and just completed a fantastic last season of high school water polo. During this season I was given the opportunity to lead our team to states for the third year in a row alongside my best friend as captains. Over the course of my water polo career, I have been able to learn the importance of hard work and dedication in both my varsity sports and academic studies. Because I am one of the smallest on my team, hard work and the drive to improve was what allowed me to get that starting spot Junior year. This past year, I was able to compete on the NEZ Regional Team for Youth and Junior Olympics. For both of these experiences I was competing with girls that I barely knew, but was able to build chemistry within a short period of time. For Junior Olympics, we took 3rd in the platinum bracket and it is one of my favorite memories! It truly was amazing that a groups of girls that had never played together was able to play to that level. The best thing when playing for a team like that is that everyone is there to play the sport they love. There is a drive that connects everyone when in the water as a team. My goal is to be able to play water polo at the collegiate level and continue my academic studies in biology, to then be able enter the medical field.
