Personal Statement
I started wrestling because I had a passion for sports and being committed to a team. One day, I made a bet with one of the wrestling coaches at my school that I would show up to their off season practices to learn. My coach didn’t think I would actually do it and commit, however I slowly learned and slowly got better throughout the summer. My coaches took me to the App State Wrestling Camp over that summer. I had to learn how to be coachable, because I had never done a physical contact sport like this one. I am very dedicated, and very serious about my sports and priorities. School and wrestling come first, of course. I can learn new things easily, be coachable, and I will be at every optional workout or practice, or even workout on my own. This year I hope to place at every tournament I go to with our team this year, and I will make sure I place this year at Girls States. My goal is to maintain the right mindset in order to accomplish and take advantage of the opportunities I am given this next year. I want to be a RN, and complete my BSN as well. I placed 6th at Girls States my sophomore (first year wrestling) year. I have placed 1st at JV Boys Tournaments. I am Dual Enrolled with our local College, and I have about 30 credits of my Associates degree already completed through Dual Enrollment. I have been honored with the opportunity to be a part of National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). I also participate in a program called PIT CREW at my high school, where we help our peers and serve as student leaders.
