Personal Statement
I’ve always loved sports like wrestling. Growing up, while other girls laced up ballet shoes. I laced up cleats and headed for the football field. I played as a defense end and long snapper for 5 years. In high school I became too small to keep playing. I then dedicated myself to finding my new passion. I had years of martial arts under my belt, literally, with a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, plus experience in BJJ, kickbox, Krav Maga, etc, But I was looking for something exciting, something that make me feel the way I felt with football. Then, I was introduced to wrestling. Growing up Mexican, I didn’t know anything about the sport . As a kid I only knew "lucha libre". But then I found this wonderful, crazy, intense, beautiful sport that gave me meaning in myself again . I focused on my training day after day. And all that hard work finally paid off when I qualified for State Championships in my 2nd year wrestling. It was so incredible, and I’m so excited to continue working until I become the ultimate champion.
