Personal Statement

My name is Kyle Lindahl and I graduated from Chino Valley High School on May 25th, 2011.  I was a four year varsity starter for the CVHS wrestling program. During that time, I earned 4 regional championships along with becoming a 4-time Arizona state placer. My Junior year at 112lb I was a runner-up at the AZ state tournament  and as for my Senior year at 125lb I was also a runner-up at the AZ state tourament. I was able to accomplish all that because I always worked harder than everyone else at practice. I would typically say after just so I could get some mat time with my coaches. I would get up extra early 5 days a week so I could go to the gym and lift weights.I live to practice and  I always have. I live to practice because I understand how vital practice really is. You cant show up and become a champion, you become a champion at practice. Thats what i always tell myself. It's all about the preparation. Wrestling has been a huge part of my life everday since fifth grade and it has shaped me into the man I am today. It means so much to me thats why I'm not ready to give it up. I have unfinished buisness on the mat and I desperately need to take care of it.
Leadership came very naturally for me at CVHS I was a 3 yr. captain. I will be the middle school wrestling coach for the 2011-2012 season.
I was a B average student at CVHS I graduated with a 3.0. I recieved the scholar-athlete award numerous times in high school. I attended college courses over the summer to get a jump on my credits.
My goal is to recieve my degree in Buisness management and or sports management.
I realize that I have started  the recruiting process very late. Im trying my best to not regret it either. I still have a very strong drive to compete at the highest level. I am open to all oppurtunities at the D. II, D.III, and NAIA levels. Ideally, I would perfer going to school somewhere close, but location won't be an issue as long as the out-of-pocket expense isn't to great. My family is in the financial need category so I am looking for scholarships I need any help I can get so I can make my dream come true and make my parents proud.
Due to a family emergency this past summer I was unable to commit myself to any school and begin completing the new goals I have set forth for myself. Which are competing in the sport of wrestling at the highest level possible and excelling in the classroom. I am looking to wrestle competivelty my freshman or redshirt freshman year. Along with making an impact on the team.  It is my priority to wrestle in college and earn my degree at the same time.
