My name is Luke Jacobs, and I am a student athlete at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. Although wrestling is very important to me, my academics come first. Throughout my first three years of high school, I have maintained a 4.205 weighted GPA while challenging myself with advanced courses. The rigor of my schedule has increased every year leading to all of my core classes being AP this year. Despite my classes and workload becoming more difficult, I always managed to maintain my GPA or improve it.
Aside from working hard in the classroom, I am working towards several goals on the mat. Before my freshman year, I set the goal of being an Arizona state champion, and I was willing to put in the time and work to achieve this goal. After suffering a heartbreaking loss in the last minute of the state blood rounds last year, I pushed myself to a new level this summer improving myself by an incredible amount. I trained with Melvin Douglas for months and qualified for the Arizona National Team. To complete the summer of work, I traveled to North Dakota to wrestle at freestyle nationals. I know that I am the best in the state, now I just need to prove myself.
I am focused and ready to go get a title. Another goal of mine is to wrestle in college. If given the opportunity, I will make the best of it and work to ensure my success. I hope to find a good fit, both in academics and wrestling. Please contact me if you would like to discuss how I can contribute to your team.
Thanks,
Luke Jacobs
