Personal Statement
After trying almost every sport known to man, I started wrestling back in the sixth grade, this was not a successful season for me. I spent most of the season on the side cheering my team on and when I did get to wrestle it rarely ended in my favor. My coach and my family had faith in me, my parents looked into a year round wrestling club and I signed up. I now wrestle year round, I compete in Folk style, Freestyle and Greco events. I have had to work harder than others for everything I have accomplished, I am in no way an athlete by nature. I will continue to use this to my advantage, to push myself, to put in the extra work when it is not expected and set goals for myself above and beyond what others believe I can accomplish.
I am a hard worker and enjoy putting in extra time in order to work on the finer details and improving myself in the sport of wrestling. I also enjoy helping the people around me whether it be teammates or classmates succeed. A typical week day for me consists of:
- 5:00 am attend Cross Fit
- 7:30 am - 3:20 pm School
- 3:40 pm completing homework and studying
- 5:15 pm volunteer and help coach kids between the ages of 5 - 14. I have been volunteering for the past 3 years. (during our high school season I do not volunteer because of practice)
- 6:45 pm - 8:15 pm wrestling practice
My collegiate goals are to find a place where I best fit in and can further my wrestling career. I am not scared of challenges or change. I have conquered every goal except one... to attend college and wrestle. I currently have a 3.3 GPA and will be graduating in 2019.
