Ryan Fischer '17 Recruiting Profile

I have been a 4 year Varsity wrestler going into my senior year. I was the team captain junior year and will continue to be captain my senior year. My junior season I was awarded team M.V.P. My junior season I placed 2nd in NCS and qualified for the California state tournament. Wrestling isn't the only sport I have made it to state in. I am a 3 year Varsity football player. I started O-line junior year and will be starting O-line senior year as well.  We have made it to state in football twice now which means football season cuts into my wrestling season so I don't get to put in as many matches as my opponents. In college I plan on focusing on just wrestling.  I started wrestling in the 4th grade for a club team called CYC, where I continued all the way through 8th grade when I placed 3rd at Nationals for freestyle and 2nd at nationals for Greco-Roman. I'm driven and determined to improve myself every day.  Good is never good enough. I always find room to improve in my techniques and moves. Off the mat and in the classroom I am an extremely respected and hard working student. I get along with almost everyone and spend much of my time in my medical academy program that my school has which prepares us for the medical field in college. I also help run a club called AVID which helps students stay on track to going to college. We visit college campuses and research everything we need to know about getting accepted to college. I'm always looking for a challenge and never stop striving for perfection. I want to make it onto a college wrestling team and after much hard work place in the NCAA national tournament. I never give up on my goals.
