Personal Statement
Hello coaches I am Conner Diamond I am a wrestler at Diamond Bar High School. Some of my college goals are to get into a good college that suits me. I don’t know what my goals for wrestling are yet but if I were to think of some I would maybe say to qualify for the national tournament or to be an all American. I am a good candidate for teams is because I am a very hard worker I will never give up a takedown on the mat, I am always open to new things If the coaches want me to bump up two weights classes because they need somewhere I will do it no questions asked or if the coach tells me to go down a weight I will do it, And if the coach tells me that I need to fix things with my moves or my conditioning I will be right on it, I am a honest person I will tell you if I have any questions or problems with anything. I am a good student I always get my work done and I know how to work with my schedule and manage my time. I’ve been wrestling for three years. My freshman year I came in not knowing wrestling to being one of the best in my class the practices were separated into two practices frosh ended at three o’clock and jv/varsity ended at 6 or do everyday after the frosh practices ended I would stay for the varsity practices it was so hard for me but I pushed through. That made me so much better as a wrestler and a person I almost placed at my first varsity tournament my freshman year but I was one match away from placing. I went into my sophomore year having to cut back down to 106 I made the weight but the day before our first tournament I broke my collarbone long story short my season was over. I’m coming back this season with a fire in my belly and ready to get out there I’m up at 120 now and I feel great I hope to make it to masters or even state I have beaten state qualifiers and masters qualifiers at mt.sac open mat and some camps that I have went to during the summer and the beginning of the year I think I have a good shot of achieving my goals this season.
