Personal Statement
I believe that I will be a valuable asset to a college wrestling program. First of all, I have an exceptional work ethic and demonstrated by my athletic and academic achievements. One of my strongest attributes is my love of the this sport. I compete at a 2A school, the smallest classification in Colorado, and due to this I seek out high level competition throughout the offseason traveling to national tournaments and duals. I have been through adversity suffering a knee injury my freshman year that required surgery. I was able to rehab and return for the last half of the season. That year I placed third, but I knew there was still so much work to be done. My sophomore year I was able to return stronger and finish with a record of 50-2. I am a student of the sport, when I am not on the mat I spend hours studying my film and breaking down my matches with my coaches. I believe that my hard work and love for this sport can take me a long way on the collegiate wrestling stage. I promise any coach that gives me the opportunity to continue my career will find me a positive addition to their program both on and off the mat.
