Wrestling is not just a sport to me, it is a way of life. Dislocating my shoulder was the biggest obstacle in my years of wrestling. I spent all summer doing physical therapy and trained continuously to better myself. Last year I placed 3rd but it obviously is not the best. Me losing in the semi-finals match humbled me and made me realize that I had a lot more to learn and to grow as an athlete. I have worked every opportunity this summer to finally fulfill my dreams in high school and win a State Championship. I have been to camps and picked up a lot more ways to execute moves. I have been wrestling since I was nine years of age. I was always told, "You shoot to win!" or "First shot wins the match.", and that has created me into the offensive wrestler I am today.
Yes, wrestling is important to me but not as important as my education. I am a Student-Athlete so school comes first. I am just as gifted in the classroom as I am on the mat. I have been raised to accept nothing less than an eighty-five in my AP or College classes and nothing less than a ninety in my regular core classes. Throughout my high school years I have maintained a 3.5 or higher GPA. I believe I will be a good addition to your program and school. I learn from my losses and improve in the places that need improvement. I am looking forward to wrestle at the collegiate level and grow with others that also want to be an All-American at the collegiate level.
