Personal Statement
I am currently in my Senior year of high school. The pandemic has created many challenges academically and personally during the past two years. I am proud to say that I've been able to continue being on the A/B honor roll despite having to learn remotely for a portion of my freshman year and attend classes my sophomore year with a shortened in-class schedule. My wrestling season in 2021 was pushed to spring and shortened considerably but I qualified for the state series. Unfortunately, I suffered an injury that ended my run to the podium during the second round. My right hip labrum was torn and during my diagnostic testing, a hip impingement was also discovered. I underwent surgery in September 2021 to reattach my labrum and fix the impingement. My rehabilitation was 4-6 months, and I could not wrestle My Junior Year season. Thru my intense physical therapy and willingness to get back to wrestling and sports in general, I have learned a lot about my own mental and physical strength. I am determined to come back stronger than ever my senior year and reach the podium again! I am looking forward to exploring all opportunities where I can utilize my passion for wrestling and continue my academic career. Thank you for your consideration.
