My name is Destin Hardy, and I am part of the Football Team, Wrestling Team, and Track Team here at North Knox. I am currently a Junior at a height of 6'2" and an average of 195 pounds. I started wrestling in the 1st grade and have strived to be the best ever since. My freshman year I wasn't ready to take on the task of highschool wrestling, I was nervous, that year my pre-season record was 14-10.I never made it out of sectionals and I know that needed to change. I took the fact that I needed to step up my game into consideration, therefore, I went to Jordan Trained wrestling camp in St. Paris, Ohio. My confidence nearly sky-rocketed after that. My sophomore year in football I had an injury resulting in a broken ankle, causing me to sit out the rest of the games, and miss my first wrestling meet. After the recovery of my ankle injury, I was ready to go. I came out of my first meet with a 5-0 record with no forfeits. I convinced the team and the coaches that I had met the requirements to become a captain, and I got the spot. Ever since those moments I have always been ready on the mat and bloodthirsty. I was the first seed in sectionals sophomore year, placing second, I placed 4th at regionals, and did not place at semi-state. My pre-season record my sophomore year was 22-5 and I had met all my goals. My goals for my junior is to remain a captain, have less than 3 losses, and go to state.
