Although, the highlight of my wrestling career was winning a state championship for myself and the team in my Junior year. The best thing to happen to me was losing. I first started wrestling in eighth grade because my older brother wrestled in high school. I developed a liking for the sport my sophomore year and entered the state tournament as the 1 seed. I was upset in the semifinals. It taught me how to learn from my failure and it made me grow stronger mentally, and It prepared me for some of the struggles that I later endured in life, outside of wrestling. I strongly believe that mentality is the key to winning matches. I believe you have to have a goal because if your goal is nothing then you will achieve nothing.
